"BACK NOT FEELING GREAT? CALL CHIROPRACTOR BIG NATE!"
Automobile accidents happen every few minutes, fortunately, most are simple fender benders. However, many auto accidents can result in serious injuries, even life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, it is common for many people to sustain an auto accident injury and not be aware of their injuries until a few days, even a few weeks after the accident. For example, one of the most common types of injury sustained from an auto accident is whiplash, which may result in symptoms that are often mistaken as simply being minor aches and pains, such as a headache or back pain. Approximately two-thirds of people involved in motor vehicle accidents develop symptoms of whiplash. The symptoms usually do not develop until two to 48 hours after the injury. Whiplash can also occur from falls, sports injuries, work injuries and other incidents.
Patients with whiplash may complain of pain and stiffness in the neck, extending into the shoulders and arms, upper back and even the upper chest. Many patients suffer from headaches, especially at the base of the skull. Patients may also experience dizziness, difficulty swallowing, nausea and even blurred vision after injury, but these symptoms tend to resolve quickly.
On your first visit following a car accident, Dr. Nathan Page will thoroughly document the accident itself as well as the current and past symptoms. After the history is recorded, a comprehensive orthopaedic and chiropractic exam will be performed. If warranted, digital X-Rays will be performed on-site using our state of the art digital X-Ray unit. Upon exam review, a proper diagnosis will be explained to the patient and a dynamic chiropractic treatment plan will begin. Should the patient need further medical evaluation, we will refer you to another respected provider for more imaging such as MRI or CT scan.
